Based in Atlanta with 2 offices in Texas and over 400 people working remotely, Worldpay US is growing fast – making a very real impact on the small and medium enterprises (SME) market. This puts us in a strong position in the industry – the second largest SME focused acquirer in the US to be exact. But we have even bigger growth plans and a continued commitment to both our people and our technology. As part of that commitment, we’re investing $1 million over 3 years into a partnership with Georgia Tech’s innovation center – giving Tech Startups the support they need to be successful whilst continuing to serve our smaller businesses and selected mid-market verticals nationwide.
How the business works
WPUS allows small and medium-sized businesses to accept and process a broad range of electronic payments (such as credit card, debit card and prepaid card) across the US. We manage businesses across four segments:
ATMs – providing wholesale processing solutions to third party organizations that own ATMs. The business serves over 100 third party owners across the US that own ATMs placed in non-bank, retail locations.
Independent Sales Organization (ISO) – third party independent sales organizations that sell processing services to small enterprises with one or two locations.
Mid-Market – businesses with card turnover greater than $5m but less than $1bn per annum. These are generally medium-sized enterprises with more complex needs.
Small Business Unit (SBU) – businesses with card turnover of up to $5m per annum. These are generally small enterprises with one or two locations.
Our bright future
Looking to the future, we have continued to invest in improving our ability to service our customers’ changing needs by launching a number of new products. We have also continued to improve the underlying resilience of the business; upgrading or replacing key internal systems and up-skilling our customer-facing staff to improve our service levels. Our focus for the future is to develop more partnerships with point-of-sale (POS) vendors as well as software development partners, including building on our partnership with Georgia Tech’s innovation center.
