This role sits within Worldpay Acquiring Support Services and provides middleware support for a wide range of middleware products, including 3rd line BAU support for production, pre-production and Dev/Test environments. The team looks after middleware support including installation, configuration, maintenance and live support of middleware services hosted on Linux and Microsoft operating systems in a highly virtualised environment and subject to strict change management and SLAs.


How will you add value on a day-to-day basis?

In this role, you will provide technical expertise within the following technologies; IBM MQ, IBM Message Broker, ESQL, SolidDB, Java/J2EE and Weblogic. You’ll represent the Acquiring Infrastructure Support within Worldpay Operations, and provide high standards of service from a middleware perspective in terms of service maintenance, new capability requests, fault prevention and resolution.


You’ll provide rapid response to production and pre-production incidents, provide incident fault diagnosis and resolution, and contribute to ongoing middleware service improvements. You’ll provide ongoing evaluation of our application services to identify potential issues such as capacity, performance, resource, process, patching, security, vulnerability plus mitigation actions required. You’ll execute changes to the environments under authorised and controlled change requests, participate in the middleware on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support, and take part in discretionary projects and engineering tasks.


What will make you the ideal candidate?

You’ll have experience working with WebSphere Message Broker (IIB), WebSphere MQ, ESQL and JAVA/J2EE. You’ll have worked on multiple projects using IBM WebSphere Message Broker (IIB) and WebSphere MQ and you’ll have knowledge of IBM WebSphere Operation Decision Management (WODM). Experience of third level support for business critical production systems is important and you’ll ideally have experience with ITIL, Service Now, JIRA and VMware virtualisation. Payments or financial technology industry experience is advantageous.
