We work as part of an Application Support team providing 2nd line support for the core eComm Gateways products & services. How will you add value on a day-to-day basis? 

Our Support Engineer role  will be contributing in extracting key MI to allow business to make informed decisions. Statistic gathering following production events. Regular reviews of the incident management queues. Investigation & analysis to help unblock customer issues. Coordination and implementation of essential production maintenance tasks. Mentoring and training of engineers as required. Define, develop and maintain documentation knowledgebase. Assisting with audit data gathering activities. Compliance with incident resolution best practice. Implement automation of manual tasks wherever possible. Troubleshooting & investigation of production system problems of a 24-7 service where stability, reputation management & security are critical to the business’ ongoing success

What will make you the ideal candidate? 

Experience in Recording and sharing of information among colleagues. Exposure to Software Development Lifecycle. Support experience in a Client/Server topology. Track record in delivering work to schedule and specification. Degree level education (in related subject of computing, maths, science, engineering) or equivalent. Collecting work from queues, adhering to workflows and processing tickets in priority order. Exp in-

- Relational databases including experience of database design - preferably Oracle or SQL

- Using schema tools, such as SchemaSpy, to help construct SQL queries for extracting MI

- Use and awareness of performance commands to optimise data retrieval

- Operational Unix commands

- Windows Server experience

A flexible approach is necessary for the role as priorities change.

Proactive approach to all areas of work

Excellent communication skills are essential, to gather and impart information effectively within the department and to the wider business

Object oriented design development language – preferably Java
