Senior Software Architect
Senior Software Architect
Why is our SWAT team the next step for you?
The SWAT team reduces risk and improves resiliency and reliability to Worldpay in many business areas by working across a number of our key platforms. We are advocates of highly performant, scalable and robust design principles, in order to handle the considerable year-on-year growth that the platforms must deliver.
As part of the SWAT team, you will be designing and developing first-class solutions to complex technical problems that would otherwise constrain our platforms or the development and support communities. Within the SWAT team, you will act as a principal designer and engineer, finding elegant solutions to complex technical problems and taking these from idea to reality.
How will you add value on a day-to-day basis?
You will act as a Principal Designer and Engineer on a variety of different platforms across our application estate, responding rapidly to either emerging threats or opportunities with short but sharp solutions. Your primary focus will be SWAT projects and in between SWAT projects you will support the Design teams as a Senior Solution Architect. You’ll develop algorithms to provide innovative solutions, work closely with stakeholders to refine business requirements, translate these into system requirements and recommended options for delivery including designs estimates.
We’ll want you to provide technical leadership and be an advocate for highly performant, scalable and robust design and development principles. Part of that is also tracking technology developments and champion the adoption of appropriate tools, technologies and development techniques where they provide real business value and support Worldpay’s continued high growth.
What will make you the ideal candidate?
We’ll want you to demonstrate design leadership experience – ideally with complex enterprise systems. You’ll have experience of software (and ideally hardware) architecture, including databases, clustering and load balancing, distributed file-systems, storage, virtualization, architecture and design patterns. Because of the nature of the role, we’ll need you to have a significant amount of conceptual problem solving experience and rapid prototyping skills.
You’ll have extensive experience with SQL Server 2016 development including Service Broker, SSIS, Query Plan and query tuning. You’ll also have experience with building continuous integration/ delivery pipelines utilising SSDT, Agile development methods, C#/ .Net development, Powershell script development, Microservices architecture preferably with Service Fabric and Source code control (Git). You’ll have extensive experience of object oriented analysis and design, and ideally knowledge of cloud architecture, performance tools, database design and web application security (OWASP and PCI).
