Why is our Financial Analysis Manager - Interchange role right for you?
Within the Payments Industry, interchange rates are determined by the card schemes however it is not as simple as a "1 size fits all" charge. Many factors influence the applicable interchange charge that is applied to a transaction such as the country of card issuance, country of the retailer, transaction method etc. and frequent updates announced by the Card Schemes have to be taken into consideration from an impact perspective. Within this role you will become a subject matter expert on all Interchange related matters. You will be involved in updating the relevant sales teams on Interchange developments, creation of internal communications, creation and provision of interchange related analytics, and partnering with technology so updates are captured. You will also assist in overseeing the financial control processes, lead on resolution of intolerances between our expected and actual interchange cost, as well as improving our Interchange forecasting and simulation processes.
What will you be doing on a day to day basis?
In support of the Head of Interchange, you will manage the review process with business, pricing and technology, ensuring continuous improvement and commercially viable business decisions are enabled. You will provide consultative support as an “Interchange SME” to business units and stakeholders. Through independent analysis of interchange charges and changes you will work with a cross functional team to ensure impact is understood and appropriate process revisions are made in a timely coordinated manner.
You will need to support interchange forecasting activities and take a lead role in building and developing interchange simulation capability (SQL based) and US Domestic Improvements. You will manage 1 direct report who will provide analytical support and detail level information.
What will make me right for this role?
You will have at least 2 years analytical experience with a particular focus on large data. You should be adept with Excel and have a strong capability with SQL. Whilst Payments sector experience is not essential, you should be familiar with working in a regulated environment and have a keen interest to become an SME in the world of Interchange within Payments.
