Assistant Financial Controller
Why is our Assistant Financial Controller role right for you?
As qualified finance professional, this is a great opportunity to join the Financial Accounting team in Manchester providing financial reporting and control across one of the most complex costs to the business.
This is an outstanding opportunity to join our FTSE100 business in our Manchester office and engage with stakeholders within our London Head Office and other business partners locally and globally. You will help develop our control infrastructure providing continuous improvement to our existing processes, identifying opportunities to improve overall control and efficiency.
What will you be doing on a daily basis?
Through the provision of control and oversight to key P&L lines you will drive accuracy and efficiency within our "Scheme Fees" and "Interchange" month end close process. This will necessitate you to engage with the Financial Controller for Acquiring locally and stakeholders within the Financial Planning and Analysis team in the head office. You will review monthly outputs ensuring the detail is correct, providing analysis and commentary in support of MI to FI reconciliation and Actual vs Forecast reconciliation. You will work with the Legal Entity Controller to develop a robust controls framework and prepare year end reporting packs and statutory accounts. You can also expect to be involved in a wide range of ad hoc and project driven tasks.
What will make me right for this role?
You will be a fully qualified accounting professional (ACCA / CIMA) with previous experience of financial reporting and analysis (preferably in a large complex organisational environment). You should have demonstrable experience of working with large volumes of data and preferably have Oracle General Ledger and Sub Ledger experience. A strong affinity with financial systems is important (as are Excel skills) and you should be a great team player with strong attention to detail.
