How will you add value on a day-to-day basis?

As a Functional Test Lead, you will be assisting the Functional Test Manager in the definition, elaboration, dissemination and enforcement of the Functional Test Strategy for the Digital Solutions Platform within Worldpay UK. You will contribute to the development of the testing services practice within Worldpay through involvement in the priority initiatives identified by the Functional Test Manager and the Head of Testing Services. You will undertake tactical management of the functional testing activities on single or multiple projects of varying scale and complexity ensuring appropriate visibility of progress to all relevant stakeholders and escalating issues to the Functional Test Manager where required. You will work together with developers, product owners, service introduction, project management office, infrastructure specialists and other subject matter experts to start testing shift the start of testing earlier in the project lifecycle and drive the appropriate resolution of defects in order to improve the overall quality of the solution under test.

You will hold the responsibility of team lead of functional test analyst resources from either Worldpay; our testing partners; or 3rd party vendors in the delivery of the required functional testing activities in line with the risk profile of the particular programme or project. Your involvement will start right from creating key functional testing documentation required for project governance including Functional Test Plan; Functional Test Completion Report and Test Status Reports as required and ensuring that the appropriate quality checks and sign-offs have been received. You will also refine the acceptance criteria for user stories/requirements ensuring that they are complete and testable. You will be participating in project estimation sessions ensuring that the effort required for functional testing activities are included in the overall assessment of project duration.

The role also involves mentoring and developing junior testers to ensure that their skills reach the expected levels of competence. And work on removing impediments which prevent the progress of testing activities and escalating any outstanding issues to the Functional Test Manager.

You will actively contribute to the testing services body of knowledge through whitepapers, thought pieces and improvements to the overall testing methodology. And championing the creation and use of reusable test assets which can be utilised by other projects and programmes. You will continuously seeking ways to improve the testing processes whilst ensuring that quality is not compromised.

 

What will make you the ideal candidate?

A demonstrable track record of working in functional testing including assessing requirements testability; requirements completeness; and test design approaches and prior team lead experience. You will have experience in the use of Test Management Tools, e.g.  HPE ALM; JIRA; Confluence. You will posses strong communication skills along with influencing and negotiating skills to translate technical information into business outcomes and to ensure positive outcomes from a testing point of view. Knowledge of the payments industry is also desirable.
