On a typical day Worldpay process over 31 million mobile, online and in-store transactions – that’s around 400 a second. In the UK we process approximately 43% of all transactions.

Our Operational Finance function in Manchester has quadrupled in size since we opened our office in April 2013. This function continues to grow as our business grows year on year and are comprised of our Settlements, Payments and Reconciliations teams.

The Reconciliations teams are responsible for the reconciliation of merchant and card scheme processing together with the reconciliation of Worldpay domestic and international bank accounts.

 

How will you add value on a day-today basis?

We are looking for a Team Manager to manage the Worldpay Alternative Payments Reconciliations team who are responsible for the reconciliation just under 700 different bank accounts. The team also undertake exception processes including investigations work and submission of MI information.

Day to day your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

- Managing, coaching and developing a team of up to 12 reconciliation controllers

- Monitoring and appropriately delegating work flow

- Proactive engagement with key stakeholders across the business

- Capability to demonstrate confidence with decision making and an ability to effectively present recommendations

- Conducting monthly team 1-2-1s and team meetings

- Accountability for management of performance and development plans

- Supporting Lean Diagnostics for your team

- Recommending and implementing process improvements

What will make you the ideal candidate?

We are looking for an ambitious and proactive individual who has experience of managing a team of people in a fast-paced, high volume environment. You will be a very strong people manager who has managed a large team directly and are able to deal with day to day team issues. You will be comfortable having difficult conversations with team members and stakeholders alike and be confident in voicing your opinions. This role requires a real man-manager; someone who can confidently lead and develop people. You must have some experience of working in a process driven environment monitoring KPI's and targets.

As a team manager, you will have proven skills in developing relationships with stakeholders. You will have experience of implementing process improvement initiatives and working in a regulated environment. An ability to work in a fast paced changing environment is crucial along with comfort in managing multiple initiatives at any one time.

This role is an excellent opportunity for a strong people manager to work in a very fast paced environment in a growing and changing business. You will be required to effectively manage and motivate a team of circa 12 controllers in line with HR policies and people framework.
