Why is our Technology Innovation team the next step for you?
Our Technology Innovation team research, investigate and build new and innovative technology and assess its applicability to Worldpay. We provide research briefings and digests, manage team wiki-like repositories and organise and develop innovation councils and working groups. We seek new or innovative technologies that may have applicability to Worldpay, provide critical analysis and filtering and to aid in its prioritisation, as well as maintain knowledge management systems to allow automated production of research digests and briefings.
How will you add value on a day-to-day basis?
As part of the innovation team, you will be responsible for researching and building new and innovative technology. You will provide requirements analysis and documentation on innovation projects from inception through to closure or service transition, manage relationships with third parties and research partners, as well as produce regular research briefings and digests.
Maintaining technology expertise through research of innovative technologies, investigation of new supplier offerings and on-going management of strategic suppliers and their product road-maps is a key aspect of the role. You will organise and run innovation forums, councils and seminars, develop relationships that support a growing innovation environment, as well as prepare and deliver briefings and presentations for the GTE Executive, and other business and IT executive management teams. You will assess projects and initiatives for ‘fit’ against the GTE technology strategy, architecture and policies, project manage the processes required to support the technology innovation model, as well as contribute to the shaping and development of feasibility studies, concepts and business cases, including building and coding prototypes.
What will make you the ideal candidate?
Extensive understanding across the breadth of IT with a proven track record within a wide variety of IT functions, including systems analysis, development and project management. You will have evidenced track record of research and development of innovative technology solutions and their application to real business problems, as well as experience with coding, developing vision and technology expertise. You will have the ability to take complex, multi-faceted ideas, objectives or problems and work with them through to simple solutions recognising synergies and options.
Strong interpersonal skills is key to the success in this role, demonstrating a variety of influencing styles to enable effective completion of tasks both individually and within groups. You will build sustainable relationships with colleagues and key individuals in the business and IT team from executive management through to technical levels, show desire to take initiative and demonstrate an ability to think 'outside the box' while defining solutions in a workable form. You will have strong demonstrable presentation and documentation skills alongside a track-record of managing knowledge management repositories like wikis or sharepoint sites, experience with coding and building prototypes in two out of (Java, iOS, Android, PHP, C++), as well as the ability to hack hardware using Arduino or similar. Industry knowledge of financial services and the electronic payments space is ideal but not essential.
