Our Payments teams in Manchester are part of the growing Operational Finance function, along with Settlements and Reconciliations. The team is responsible for ensuring that our customers (merchants who use our services) are paid for transactions. They handle 17 currencies and make payments in excess of £850m per week.
How will you add value on a day-to-day basis?
As a Payments Controller you will responsible for preparing, checking and releasing these payments to our customers domestically and globally. You will reconcile currency accounts as well as preparing, checking and releasing payments in various currencies (eg GBP, EUR, USD, AUD) ensuring they are made in accordance with deadlines & SLA's. You will use various payment methods including BACS, CHAPS & SWIFT as well as setting up bank transfers to ensure accounts are funded for the automatic processes.
What will make you the ideal candidate?
We are looking for analytically minded individuals with a passion for attention to detail and getting it right first time. Ideally with some experience of working within a high volume transaction processing environment or a deadline driven finance environment. Attention to detail is key for this role as well as speed, given the high value and volume of funds which transfer between accounts. Technically, you will have a good working knowledge of Excel.
