Why is our Network team the next step for you?
As a senior member of our network operations team, you will be a technical point of escalation for the NOC and your 2nd line colleagues. The team supports the Worldpay network infrastructure to ensure availability SLA (Service Level Agreement) is met and we work in close collaboration with our NOC colleagues in Cambridge and with the Network Delivery team in London. We troubleshoot, identify and resolve complex data network issues within SLA, as well as propose and implement configuration changes for incident resolution.
How will you add value on a day-to-day basis?
You will act as the ‘gatekeeper’ of the network, review proposed changes and provide feedback to the requestor ensuring consistency of implementation and adherence to build standards and handover requirements. You will continuously seek to improve tools, systems and processes, as well as ensure Acceptance into Service criteria is met with ongoing compliance to internal Asset Management, Refresh Programs and Configuration Management processes. You will follow processes for Change, Incident and Problem management, and engage with the Delivery Team to review new deployment designs and ensure they are scalable and efficient.
Acting as a network support SME and developing an understanding of new network technologies as they emerge is key to the success in this role. You will assist in the creation of designs and standards to maintain maximum operational stability, assist with the deployment of Network Infrastructure and Application solutions and assist with development of strategies within Network Support. You will also review existing processes and drive forward improvement where required.
What will make you the ideal candidate?
You will be a CCIE qualified senior network professional with a strong operational background. You will have experience of supporting Layer-2 networks including Ethernet, spanning-tree, LACP, VLANs, vPC and VDC, as well as experience supporting Layer-3 networks including IP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS and VRF. You will have experience of network monitoring and management tools, experience with Routing and Switching technologies, including Cisco Nexus, Catalyst switches and Juniper EX switches, as well as experience of load balancing technologies, specifically F5 products (LTM, GTM and Enterprise Manager).
Experience of supporting and configuring Fortinet firewalls and usage of FortiManager is important, as well as a proven ability to troubleshoot complex network faults. You will have recognised knowledge of business critical systems, the ability to work effectively in a high pressure environment, experience working within an ITIL environment and the ability to collect and decipher packet traces. Experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco ACI and Cisco ISE is desirable and you will be CCIE qualified. Any Juniper, Fortinet or F5 professional qualifications are advantageous.
